Mena away so I had to stay with the
children. Mr. Massey sick in bed all
day so he stayed with me.

Annie and Jim invited to Mrs. T.
Murdocks for cards and to meet Captain
Kell.

Traveling to Australia?????


...So, you are planning a little trip to the down under???  Check out the folks before you go, that is according to the 1911 account of Valerie Desmond in The Awful Australian.

According to Ms. Desmond in her foreward, "I think it is time somebody called upon the self-satisfied Australians to show cause why a little more humility and a little less arrogance were not more seemly."

Such began an evening of entertainment in a Hobart household on February 25, 1913.

Jim got home from Melbourne. Annie read
""Awful Australian"" aloud in evening. Mr. Massey
in for a while.

Feb. 20, 1913

In afternoon Mr. Massey Annie
Catherine and I went to Glenorchy.
Met Miss M. Walker on train. Had
afternoon tea at Mrs. Butters.
