One hundred years ago, Georgie G. MacGillivray traveled to Tasmania with her sister, brother-in-law, and their two children. She would be nanny to the family while James William Fraser served as engineer to a hydro-electric plant project. I will post entries coinciding with their 100 year anniversary. Journal entries will begin August 3, 2012. Prior to that I will post background information on Georgie, James, other family members, and related topics.

Traveling to Australia?????
...So, you are planning a little trip to the down under??? Check out the folks before you go, that is according to the 1911 account of Valerie Desmond in The Awful Australian.
According to Ms. Desmond in her foreward, "I think it is time somebody called upon the self-satisfied Australians to show cause why a little more humility and a little less arrogance were not more seemly."
Such began an evening of entertainment in a Hobart household on February 25, 1913.
